Happy New You!

I love new years because of it’s psychological influences with putting the past away and rejuvenating your goals.  Everyone has goals; and, no matter your goal, the bottom line is that we’re all seeking happiness.
Happiness is E V E R Y T H I N G!  Take a minute to determine what makes you happy?   Happiness, for you, might be more money, more time with family, more friends, a successful relationship, or a better self image. Happiness can be achieving a kipping pull-up without assistance or climbing the rope to 15′ for the first time.  Wherever your happiness lies, it’s up to you, and no one else to accomplish your goals.
Get This Straight:  It’s Up To You To Accomplish Your Goals.
No matter how great your argument, your life, the decisions you make, and the things that happen to you are either Meant To Be or Your Fault. Let’s discuss this.  Sometimes, things are just meant to be – you get laid off, your child is born with challenging issues, someone hits the side of your car, etc.  It’s reality that bad things happen to good people.  You can’t control everything that happens in your life, so it’s your job to figure out how to regain your happiness among hardships and tragedy. You can’t changes these things that are meant to be, therefore, you must move on.
However, it’s my opinion that most of the time we are unhappy and it’s our own fault.  Are you in a sucky relationship that you keep reviving? Stop It!  Are you 20lbs overweight and continue to eat crappy food? Stop It!  Someone/something else in your life is in the drivers seat and it’s your responsibility to get back in it.   Don’t make excuses for yourself nor your situation.  Do Something About it! Yes, yes, some situations are more complex; for example, Shaun and I wanted to open a business in Bloomington when we were settled in another town with full time jobs.  Quitting our jobs to relocate (and living off our savings) is how we invested in our happiness.  Very few people thought it was a good idea, but instead of choosing option A) stay unhappy, we chose option B) do something about it.
No matter what situation you’re in, you’re on the right track when you Do Something About it, no matter the outcome.
Happy 2012! Happy New You!
